Happy Saturday! Today is the final installment of this series! Yay! We made it! These Saturday posts aim to be short and sweet and a little bit behind-the-scenes, so you can find out a little more about what goes on around here at HQ and in my Happy Home. You can join in too if you like. There aren’t any prompts and it doesn’t have to be a Saturday, just one thing worth taking a photo of that makes your home feel happy this week (or anytime really).
It was my birthday last weekend, and my Dad and I have a tradition to make a Chocolate Mousse cake. It was my Dad’s best friend’s recipe that she sent him way back in 1992, so it’s getting pretty faint these days. It was printed with a dot matrix!! This year it didn’t really go to plan, as cooking chocolate seems to have evolved since it was first made all those years ago, and now seems to burn more than just melt!!
Our old spring form cake tin gave up part way through so we only got half the amount of cake we usually do, but it was still delicious, even if it’s not the prettiest. Without me telling my SIL about the tin debacle, they bought me a new set of spring form tins for Christmas so next year it might be more successful!
28 has been quiet so far. I ran a PB on my birthday and am hoping that will become a tradition of sorts. I’m looking forward to spending a little time to get my goals for 2014 down on paper in some kind of order that I can start ticking off once the new year begins. 27 was a crazy big year and I’m hoping 28 will turn out to be one to remember for all the right reasons.
Thanks for being apart of one of my biggest and happiest years yet. x
