Happy Saturday! 5 weeks in and still going strong. ;) These Saturday posts aim to be short and sweet and a little bit behind-the-scenes, so you can find out a little more about what goes on around here at HQ and in my Happy Home. You can join in too if you like. There aren’t any prompts and it doesn’t have to be a Saturday, just one thing worth taking a photo of that makes your home feel happy this week (or anytime really).
We love DVDs in this house. I’m not much of a TV watcher because I never seem to be in front of the TV at the right time or I’m there and the network has decided to move my show the first week I remember that it’s on (looking at you Channel 9), so our DVD player gets a lot of use. I also know that they are perfect for when you get a quiet moment and you just want to get sucked into another world or someone else’s story. That’s why when I was invited to the Madman Christmas Party (an Australian company that produces and distributes some awesome DVDs) I said YES!
I have to say that it was one of the classiest Christmas parties I’ve ever been to, and I was just so excited to see all the awesome work they’ve been doing to not only assist with some great Aussie shows like Offspring, but that they’re also bringing overseas content like the Cartoon Network shows, Midsummer Murders, Miss Marple, Skins, The Killing and Stephen Fry’s awesome docos to our shores and into our homes.
Not only was it a fun night, but the people that work at Madman were lovely and passionate about what they do. With what I feel like is so much of what we buy coming from overseas, it’s just wonderful to see people in Australia so passionate about the content that they’re brining to us. It was really refreshing. They also won me over with the Adventure Time cupcakes you might have seen on instagram and that they had the recipe for them so you can make them for the Adventure Time lovers in your family! You can download them here.
I was given 3 gift vouchers and chose 3 very different but cool DVD box sets for under the Christmas tree (well one is for me and one is a birthday present, but the other is going under the tree – shh!) and I have to say that wrapping box sets may be my favourite thing to wrap. They’re even more straightforward than most books and I’m all for easy, pretty wrapping! There were a few that were available that I didn’t pick up at the party so I’m now going to brave the shops to add them to the Christmas gifts too! I love an easy but perfect gift!
Thanks Madman for the Chirssy inspiration! I’m feeling a lot less stressed about what to get my hard to buy for family members now! haha!
So, now it’s over to you. What’s making you happy in your home this week? You can join in on Twitter (@danniellecresp) or Instagram (@dannielle) with the hashtag #inmyhappyhome or share a pic with the new facebook page or blog about it and leave your link below.
Disclaimer: I was invited to the Madman Christmas Party and loved what they had to offer so I wanted to share it with you. As always, I only share what I think you’ll love and get something from. But do feel free to invite me over if you make those cupcakes, because they’re way beyond my baking skills but they were delicious! ;)
